No tutorials on making apps
There are tutorials on making games but nothing on how to make an app. Not even a simple calculator!
I already don't understand the current tutorials since I'm following instructions for half-written code rather than learning how to write it myself so I can actually understand what's happening. Now I'm trying to work on my own and I can't figure it out.
I just want to practice making a calculator but I don't know how since the tutorials are for games and don't all seem to apply to the apps. And again, the tutorials have code pre-written for you! There's no winning here when you don't know how the code works!

Check out the following page for inspiration on making apps and not just games:
If you have some programming experience, try dividing your code up into libraries.
That way you could have a library which defines the calculator functions (e.g. add, subtract, multiply, divide, square root, etc), another that defines the user interface (e.g. a button that calls a function or returns a number [0-9]), and finally the last being the application itself.
